Nine men involved in an automotive burglary ring, which included multiple armed car jackings and armed home invasions, spanning from Suffolk County, the Hudson Valley, and Florida, have been indicted, prosecutors said Friday.

The defendants all face conspiracy charges and various other burglary charges after an investigation determined they went on a 17-day period crime spree in July and August 2025, stealing "tens of thousands" of dollars, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said in announcing the 38-count indictment.

Those named in the indictment include: Savion Jones, 22, of Huntington Station; Leny Cruz, 23, of Brooklyn and seven other men.;

The seven were bail eligible and are due back in court next month, Tierney said. Only Jones and Cruz were not bail eligible. They could not be reached for comment.

"If you are going to commit crimes, either outside of Suffolk County, to come into Suffolk County, or based in Suffolk County . . it doesn't matter," Tierney said. "We are going to work with our law enforcement partners to hold you responsible."

Tierney announced the indictment at a news conference at the H. Lee Dennison Building in Hauppauge on Friday morning alongside Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina,  Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, New York State Police, NYPD and federal agents. The U.S. Marshals Service, which was not in attendance, also was part of the investigation.

Members of the ring are accused of breaking into and stealing from several auto-body shops in the region, prosecutors said, and eventually progressed to car jacking and burglarizing an apartment, Tierney said.

"As the investigation evolved, we quickly discovered that these Suffolk County incidents were not isolated, rather, they were part of a larger organized enterprise that was carrying out coordinated criminal acts, not just here in Suffolk County, but elsewhere in New York State, as well as in Florida," Tierney said.

"As you can see, this was an organized and prolific crime spree that grew increasingly violent and dangerous, and we thank our law enforcement partners for stopping it when they did," Tierney said. "This is typical conduct that you see as the criminal conspiracy persists. It becomes increasingly brazen and unfortunately, increasingly violent."

Jones, Cruz, and a third man each face a top count of first-degree robbery and face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

Jones, an alleged Bloods gang member, is in custody on an unrelated attempted murder case and is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on March 6.
