An employee leaving a drugstore in Floral Park was punched in the face Friday morning by a man who stole her bag, Nassau County police said.

The 51-year-old victim was leaving the CVS store at 372 Jericho Turnpike when the assault and robbery took place about 8:35 a.m., police said. The woman’s bag contained an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robber was described by police as having a heavy build, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and wearing black pants, a black, hooded sweatshirt and black boots. The woman refused medical attention, police said.

Detectives requested that anyone with information call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
