Cyle Ashby, 53, was heading south on Ashton Road near Sylvia Lane about 7 p.m. when the 2020 Vande Excelsior veered off the road and struck the trees, the police said in a news release late Tuesday.

Ashby was pronounced dead after being transported to NYU Langone Hospital — Suffolk in Patchogue, said the police, adding that they impounded the motorcycle for a safety check.

Anyone with information about the crash can call Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652.
