Bay Shore couple guilty of endangering 2 children, DA says

Suffolk County Court jurors on Tuesday found a Bay Shore couple guilty of endangering the welfare of two children and violating orders of protection, according to the Suffolk County district attorney’s office.
Herbie White, 39, and Tyeesha Booker, 38, were convicted of first-degree criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child for acts of abuse committed against two of Booker’s relatives between June 2013 and June 2015, according to a news release issued by Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota.
Their attorneys could not be reached for comment.
White was found guilty of criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child. Evidence at trial showed that on three occasions he violated court orders by punching one child in March 2015, and threatening both of them in May and June 2015.
He also was convicted of violating orders of protection by being in the children’s presence in November 2014.
White was being held at the Suffolk jail in Riverhead until sentencing Nov. 7, authorities said.
Booker, who is out on bail until the Nov. 7 sentencing, was convicted of two charges of endangering the welfare of a child, officials said.
