A North Bellmore man used a "large knife" to stab his wife in the neck "multiple times" last week, according to police and a Nassau criminal complaint filed in connection with the fatal attack.

The complaint, filed in Nassau County First District Court, charges Anthony Paruolo, 37, with second-degree murder with intent to cause death in the Thursday night stabbing of his wife, Danielle Paruolo, 42. Court records show Anthony Paruolo was remanded following a bedside arraignment Saturday and his next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.

Police have not said why he was hospitalized.

Police said officers responded to multiple 911 calls about a "domestic incident" at a South Bismark Avenue home Thursday night and found the body of Danielle Paruolo at about 11:40 p.m.

Anthony Paruolo was arrested at about midnight Thursday into Friday, according to the complaint.

According to the sworn deposition included in the complaint, Nassau County Police Det. James B. Malone testified: "At the time and place aforesaid, the defendant, Anthony Paruolo with the intent to cause death, did stab the victim, Danielle Paruolo multiple times in the neck with a large knife, causing her death."

Additional details of the killing were not included in the complaint, and police have not released any further details, citing the ongoing investigation.

It was not immediately clear Monday if Anthony Paruolo is represented by counsel.
