Diego Adames, left, and Dennis Granados were arrested on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 in connection with the theft of tires and rims from a car in North Babylon, police said.

Two men were arrested early Saturday morning after officers interrupted them stealing the tires and rims off a car in North Babylon, Suffolk County police said.

Police said they received a call from a North Babylon resident that three men appeared to be taking car parts from a 2015 Toyota Corolla parked in the snow in the 20 block of Victoria Road. At about 2:30 a.m., a Suffolk County officer arrived and stopped two of the men, who police said were stealing the rims and tires. The third man ran off, police said.

Diego Adames, 20, of Great Neck Road, North Amityville, and Dennis Granados, 25, of Cabota Avenue, Copiague, were charged with attempted grand larceny. Both men are being held at the First Precinct, pending arraignment on Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police are continuing to investigate. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad at 631-852-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
