Riverhead Town police are searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in an hit-and-run crash in Calverton on Friday night that left a motorcyclist with injuries.

About 11:30 p.m., a 911 call was made to police for an accident on Route 25A, police said. Responding officers found the operator of a 1975 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a 31-year-old-man who had been injured. The other vehicle had fled the scene, police said.

The injured man was taken by Wading River Fire Department Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

The accident is being investigated by the Riverhead police Detective Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the division at 631-727-4500, ext. 328.
