A monthslong investigation into a multimillion-dollar drug trafficking operation in Suffolk County resulted in the seizure of about $362,000 in cash and roughly 4 kilograms of narcotics, officials said Saturday.

Six people were also arrested in connection with the operation, which distributed crack, cocaine and heroin across Brookhaven and parts of the East End, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said at a news conference in Yaphank.

“We ended one of the largest drug distribution networks in Suffolk County,” said District Attorney Timothy Sini.

More than $1 million in assets were connected to the operation, and investigators were able to connect several fatal overdoses to the drug network, Sini said. The drugs were distributed through multiple trips from the Bronx to Suffolk County, according to police.

Police used multiple search warrants early Saturday morning at the suspects’ residences in Middle Island, the Bronx and Coram.

Roughly $362,000 in cash, four handguns, 250 grams of cocaine, 475 grams of heroin, 400 grams of crack and drug paraphernalia including a kilo press, cutting agents, packaging and scales were recovered at the residences, the district attorney’s office said.

Michael Fearon, 33, who police identified as the leader of the drug operation, was arrested Saturday at his Middle Island home and is facing drug trafficking charges, officials said.

Fearon attempted to flee in his car from police when he was approached at his Wilson Avenue residence Saturday, Sini said.

During the chase, Fearon crashed his car into two unmarked police cars and two other cars with civilians before police arrested him roughly a quarter-mile from his home. No one was hurt during the chase, Sini said.

Fearon will be arraigned Sunday, Sini said, and could face 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

The district attorney’s office said Elius Cefarino Garcia Ovalles, 31, of the Bronx, was the supplier for the drug operation. He was charged with operating as a major drug trafficker, and could face 25 years to life if convicted. He will be arraigned Sunday.

William Davis, 38, of Coram; Edward Thompson, 50, of Middle Island; Paula Amador, 50, of Brooklyn and Craig Williams, 57, of Middle Island also were arrested and were charged with conspiracy in the second degree, officials said.

Amador and Williams were arraigned Saturday and held on bail, according to court records. Williams’ attorney could not be immediately reached for comment. Amador is being represented by the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, which could not be immediately reached for comment.
