Drunken driver hit police car in Manorville, Suffolk cops say

A Central Islip man was arrested early Saturday after police said he was driving while intoxicated and struck a police car.
A Suffolk County police spokeswoman said Carmelo Rivera, 37, was driving a 1999 Cadillac west on Sunrise Highway near Railroad Avenue in Center Moriches about 12:22 a.m. when the collision occurred.
The Cadillac struck the county police car and the officer inside sustained minor injuries.
Police arrested Rivera and charged him with driving while intoxicated.
