East Meadow man assaulted, robbed in his home, cops say
An East Meadow man was assaulted and robbed in his home by three men early Sunday morning, according to Nassau County police.
According to detectives, the 53-year-old man had entered his home on Rose Drive at 4:22 a.m. when three men wearing dark clothing began “kicking and punching him in the head,” causing “contusions,” police said. The suspects then snatched an undetermined amount of money from the victim and fled in a 2007 white Jeep.
The victim followed the suspects in his car to Charles Lindberg Boulevard and West Road in Garden City, when the tires of the Jeep went flat and the suspects scattered, police said.
The victim then called police and drove to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The suspects are all described as 20 to 25 years old, about 150 pounds and 5-foot-10, police said.
Police ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
