The robber, armed with a large kitchen knife, jumped the counter at a Dunkin’ Donuts store in East Northport early Friday, stealing cash from the register, Suffolk County police said.

Now, police are searching for the man, who they said robbed the store on Larkfield Road at 12:23 a.m. And, they’re asking for the public’s help.

Police did not disclose the amount of cash stolen. An employee behind the counter was not injured, police said.

Police said the suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask. He fled to a waiting vehicle.
