A Westhampton man has been charged in a Sunday hit-and-run crash in East Quogue, police say. Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto/kali9

A Westhampton man was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash after he allegedly struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in East Quogue on Sunday, Southampton Town police said.

Shortly after 8 p.m., police received a 911 call of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Lewis Road near County Road 104 and leaving the scene.

The person was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital via police helicopter for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

On Wednesday, police arrested Alfredo Osorio, 34, and charged him with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash.

Osorio was held overnight and will be arraigned Thursday morning in Southampton Town Justice Court.
