The 54-year-old woman was approached as she stood in front of 272 Elmont Rd. by a man who grabbed her bag and ran north on Elmont Road at about 2:30 p.m., Fifth Squad detectives said.

The suspect was described as about 20 years old and about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and light colored sneakers, police said.
