Nassau County police are investigating the robbery of an Elmont gas station on Saturday.

Authorities said a man entered a Shell gas station at 1360 Hempstead Tpke. at about 4:20 p.m. and ordered a 24-year-old male employee to open the register.

The masked robber fled on foot, heading north on Covert Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. No injuries were reported.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
