Wearing dark-colored clothing, a dark mask and gloves, an armed man robbed a takeout restaurant in Elmont late Wednesday, fleeing the scene with cash, police said.

Nassau County police said the robbery at the Wok and Grill, a restaurant on Elmont Road that, according to its storefront advertising sells “Halal Chinese,” “Desi Food” and “Bar-B-Q Burgers,” occurred at about 10:30 p.m. No one was injured.

Police said the suspect, masked and armed with a handgun, entered the store, approached an employee and demanded money from the register. The employee complied, police said, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the gunman was of medium height and had “a stocky build.” No further description was available.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
