A South Carolina man has been charged with sending bomb-like materials to a 19-year-old Plainview woman he had contact with on the internet, Nassau County police said.

James Dickerson, 22, of North Charleston, was arrested on Jan. 23 and recently extradited to Nassau County, police said.

“On three separate occasions between Nov. 1 and Nov. 20, 2017, [Dickerson] had false bombs containing ammonium nitrate, a radioactive uranium ore sample and a pressure cooker containing thumbtacks” sent to the woman, police said.

Police provided no additional details on what they called “false bombs.”

Dickerson was arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead on three counts of placing a false bomb or hazardous substance, a felony, and harassment in the first degree, according to online court records.

He was held on bail of $50,000 cash or $100,00 bond, records show. His next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
