A former Farmingdale State College instructor accused of forcing a student to perform oral sex in a school parking lot last week has pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual abuse and other criminal charges, Suffolk County court records show.
Antoine Munfakh, 44, also allegedly groped the victim’s breasts and choked her during the alleged Oct. 15 incident in Parking Lot 6, according to a felony complaint.
He pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree rape and third-degree criminal obstruction of breathing during an arraignment before Suffolk Judge Evan S. Tanenbaum on Oct. 16.
“He absolutely denies the allegations and looks forward to proving his innocence in court,” said Munfakh’s attorney, Scott E. Leemon, of Manhattan.
Tannenbaum ordered Munfakh, of Freeport, held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, $40,00 insured bond or $200,000 partially secured bond, according to court records.
Munfakh was an adjunct assistant professor in Farmingdale State’s Aviation Administration Department from Aug. 29, 2024, until June 5, 2025.
“Farmingdale State College takes all matters involving the health, safety, and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff with the utmost seriousness,” the school said in a statement to Newsday. “We are thankful for the partnership of the Suffolk County Police Department, who immediately alerted Farmingdale State College (FSC) University Police upon receiving the 911 call. FSC University Police swiftly responded to assist our student and provide immediate care.”
University officials said they have been in contact with the victim and have ensured full access to campus mental health resources and support services.
Munfakh is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 4.
