Police are searching for suspects involved in an altercation with two brothers at a Farmingville restaurant Sunday that left one of the brothers stabbed in the abdomen and in serious condition.

The incident occurred at the El Charro on Horseblock Road at about 11 p.m. where the two brothers, whose identities have not been released, were sitting at the restaurant bar when a "small group of men" entered, Suffolk police said in a news release.

The group soon became "involved in an altercation" with the brothers, police said.

During that fight, police said one of the men from the group "pulled a knife and stabbed one of the brothers" in the abdomen.

The brothers, ages 33 and 37,  were transported to a  hospital for treatment; the brother who was stabbed was in serious condition, while the other was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Sixth Squad detectives are investigating the incident and police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 631-854-8652 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
