Garden City Park woman, 72, killed in accident, police say

The pedestrian killed by a hit-and-run driver in Garden City Park has been identified as a local resident, Nassau police said Wednesday.
Catarina Didricson, 72, suffered multiple traumatic injuries when she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Nassau Boulevard south of Seventh Street at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
She was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at a hospital, police said.
Homicide detectives are seeking the driver. A police spokesman said there were no details on the hit-and-run vehicle.
