Police ID man found shot to death in Wyandanch

Police have identified a man who was found dead with gunshot wounds Wednesday morning in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police said.
Derrick Dixon, 32, of Wyandanch was shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical center in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The shooting was reported in a 911 call at 11:38 a.m., Suffolk police said, and Homicide Squad detectives responded to the scene in the rear lot of a shopping plaza at 1527 Straight Path.
Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or to report a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
