Suffolk County police and firefighters were called to Tattoo Maven on Carleton Avenue in East Islip at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018. Credit: Stringer News Service

Suffolk County arson detectives said they are investigating a fire early Tuesday at a tattoo parlor in East Islip.

A window was also broken at Tattoo Maven at 255 Carleton Ave., Suffolk County police said.

The fire was reported about 1 a.m. and was extinguished by the Islip Terrace Fire Department, police said. No one was in the business at the time, police said.

A man who answered the telephone at the business later Tuesday declined to comment.
