The Floral Park Police Department is warning local residents about a recent series of vehicle break-ins and thefts, reminding them to keep vehicles locked — and to remove valuables.

Police posted the alert on the department’s website.

No time period for the break-ins was cited. The number of incidents also was unclear.

The website notes that thefts from parked vehicles occurred on Geranium, Violet, Verbena and Crocus avenues, while some occurred in the vicinity of Emerson Avenue.

In addition to warning residents to “never leave any valuables in your cars” and “always keep your car doors locked,” police said “If you notice unknown individuals exiting from, or peering up your neighbors’ driveways, or if you notice vehicle dome lights on, or doors left ajar to your car or a neighbor’s car, don’t hesitate to call the Floral Park Police Department immediately . . . ”

The police department’s number is 516-326-6400.
