Two women charged in home invasion of Franklin Square home, attack on resident
A North Bellmore woman and a New Jersey resident both face first-degree burglary charges after they allegedly broke into a Franklin Square home and attacked a resident early Sunday, Nassau County police said.
At about 1:10 a.m., a 30-year-old woman called 911 after she saw a light shining in the basement window of her Park Lane residence. She then heard loud knocking at the door, police said.
Ashley Dunn, 27, of North Bellmore, and Kelly Walsh, 27, of Denville, New Jersey, allegedly entered the residence without permission and attacked the woman, pulling her hair and slapping her repeatedly, police said.
The woman suffered injuries to her head, neck and chest but refused medical treatment.
Dunn and Walsh were arrested at the scene without further incident.
At their arraignment in Nassau District Court, both women pleaded not guilty and were released on non-monetary conditions. The court also issued a temporary order of protection. No information on their lawyers was available online.
