Freeport street robbery suspect sought, Nassau police say
Nassau County police said Thursday they are looking for a man who pushed a woman to the ground in Freeport and stole her identification card, credit card and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Detectives said the victim in the robbery, a woman, 19, was not injured.
She was walking on North Columbus Avenue just before 1 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground, police said.
The suspect then took her wallet, which contained her state ID card, a credit union credit card and cash.
He ran off through a rear yard, police said.
