The scene of the November stabbing off Orinoco Drive in Brightwaters that left a teen seriously injured.

A fifth teenager has been arrested and faces gang assault charges in connection with a Brightwaters stabbing that seriously injured a 17-year-old last month, Suffolk County police said.

Detectives charged a 15-year-old male, whose name is being withheld due to his age, with second-degree gang assault. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled for arraignment at Family Court on Dec 29.

The 15-year-old is the fifth teen to be arrested and charged in the Nov. 19 stabbing.

Around 8:55 p.m., a 911 caller reported a teenager had been stabbed during a fight between a group of young people in the rear parking lot of an Orinoco Drive building.

When police arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

He was transported to a hospital in serious condition, police said.

A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged at his home the same day with second-degree gang assault, police said.

Following an investigation, three other teens were arrested last week: a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were charged with second-degree gang assault; another 15-year-old was charged with first-degree gang assault and first-degree assault, police said.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
