A 30-year-old gang member was shot in the head and seriously injured Tuesday in an Amityville neighborhood, Suffolk police said. Amityville and Massapequa schools near the scene of the Oldfield Avenue shooting were locked out for part of Tuesday afternoon while police searched the neighborhood for the gunman, who fled the area in a silver SUV.
