Two Smithtown garbage carters were sentenced to three years conditional release Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, after pleading guilty in May to a scheme to defraud the town of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Mario and Robert Garofalo pleaded guilty to attempted enterprise corruption, a felony. The company pleaded guilty to enterprise corruption.
