Suffolk County police are investigating graffiti spray-painted on a vehicle in Hauppauge as a hate crime, a department spokeswoman said Monday.

Police responded to a residence on Woodbury Road at about 10 a.m. Sunday to find it vandalized, she said.

Words painted on the vehicle were racist in nature, according to a report by News 12 Long Island.
