Two women trying to steal from a Macy's Wednesday attacked two store employees who had detained them, Nassau police said.

The suspects had unpaid merchandise as they attempted to leave the department store at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream about 1 p.m., police said.

As two employees escorted them to the loss prevention office, they were kicked and shoved by the suspects, including Shalaina Mosley, 17, who punched one employee in the face and took her cell phone, police said.

The second assailant pushed the same employee to the ground, then kicked and punched her several times, police said.

Mosley stayed at the scene and was arrested, but her accomplice ran off with unpaid merchandise and a security radio that the victim, 37, dropped during the struggle, police said. The victim suffered facial pain, ringing in her ear and dizziness, police said. The other employee was not injured, authorities said.

Mosley, of 145th Street in Jamaica, Queens, was expected to be arraigned Thursday on two counts of second-degree robbery.
