A masked man brandishing a silver automatic handgun robbed a Chase Bank in Greenvale on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. Credit: NCPD

A masked man brandishing a silver automatic handgun robbed a Chase Bank in Greenvale on Wednesday morning, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The robbery happened at 9:15 a.m. at the bank’s 57 Northern Blvd. location. There were six employees and two customers present at the time.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a dark hooded shirt, dark pants, gloves and a mask.

Police say he demanded money from a teller before he fled on foot through the north side exit doors and headed in an unknown direction.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
