A man robbed a Wantagh gas station Tuesday night and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Nassau County police said.

The man, armed with a handgun and with a scarf covering his face, entered the OK Petroleum gas station at 767 Wantagh Ave. at about 11:50 p.m. and demanded money from the clerk, police said.

There were no customers in the store at the time and no injuries were reported, police said.

The robber was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, black and white sneakers and white gloves, police said.

The robber fled on foot on Hunt Road, police said. Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477.
