A 300-pound gunman robbed a Bellmore 7-Eleven of beer Monday for the second time in less than a week, Nassau County police said.
The counter clerk at the Sunrise Highway location recognized the man from the previous week, as the man was heading to the counter with a 12-pack of beer just before 2:45 a.m., police said.
When the clerk told him he would have to pay for the beer, the man pointed a black handgun at him, police said.
The robber ran off with the beer, going south on Bellmore Avenue, and got into the passenger side of a vehicle, police said.
The clerk was alone in the store, police said, and did not report any injury.
The suspect appeared to be in his 20s, is about 6 feet tall and had a mustache, police said. He wore blue shorts, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue baseball hat, black sneakers and white socks, police said.
Detectives ask anyone with information to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
