Hampton Bays man drove drunk, unlicensed, police say

A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with drunken driving after a traffic stop late Tuesday night in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town police said.

Ciro Huerta, of Hampton Bays, was arrested after the stop on Montauk Highway at 11:20 p.m. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and ticketed for operating a motor vehicle without a license and for moving from a lane unsafely.

He faces arraignment Wednesday.

Police said Huerta was driving a 2004 Ford sport utility vehicle eastbound on Montauk Highway when he was spotted failing to maintain his travel lane — and stopped.
