Hempstead crash involves stolen car, police chase, cops say

A police pursuit ended when the driver of a stolen car crashed into several parked vehicles early Thursday morning in Hempstead, leaving the two occupants hospitalized and under arrest, police said.
Hempstead Village police have not released charges against the two male suspects and have not released their identities, citing the ongoing investigation.
Police also did not release details of the pursuit, other than to acknowledge it ended on Weir Street at about 2 a.m.
Photos from the scene show the vehicle on a lawn, having crashed into a sport utility vehicle, a trailer and a car.
