Nassau County police are investigating the stabbing of a Hempstead man Saturday during an attempted robbery near his home.

Police said the incident occurred at 8:15 p.m. when the Morrell Street resident was returning to the house where he is a tenant.

The victim, 35, said two men tried to rob him near the house, stabbing him twice in the arm and once in the stomach, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries and is listed in stable condition.
