Nassau Police are searching for an SUV driver who struck and critically injured a pedestrian in Hempstead Village Saturday night.

Around 10:52 p.m., Jose Reyes, 46, of Hempstead was crossing from north to south on Fulton Avenue when a dark-colored SUV traveling west hit him and drove away, police said. The incident took place near 415 Fulton Ave., between Clinton Street and Robson Place.

Reyes suffered head trauma and several broken bones. He is in critical condition, police said.

Police ask that anyone who may have seen or know anything about the incident contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
