Two Hempstead youths were arrested in three robberies in which gold chains were ripped off the necks of three female victims -- including one from a 5-year-old girl, authorities said.
The jewelry stolen by the youths -- a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old -- is worth $2,000, police said.
None of the chains have been recovered and authorities said they are looking for other youths who were involved in the robberies.
The robberies, which took place between June 20 and 24, happened on Yale Street, on Front Street and on Westbury Boulevard. The other two victims were ages 59 and 44.
The boys were arrested hours after they stole the chain Friday from the 44-year-old woman, police said. Police didn't release the specific evidence linking the juveniles to the robberies.
The boys were released and are due in family court in Westbury on July 8.
