A homeless man is being held on bail of $500,000 cash or bond on charges that he stabbed another man in the victim’s home in June in Hempstead, Nassau County police said.
Herlindo Vasquez-Ramirez, 38, who has no known address, was arrested in Uniondale at about 1:30 a.m. and was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. He was arraigned in First District Court, according to the Nassau district attorney’s office.
According to detectives, during an argument that occurred just before 11 p.m. on June 20, 2015, Vasquez-Ramirez stabbed a 27-year-old man in the “back, stomach and finger” in the victim’s Homan Boulevard home. The suspect then fled, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for surgery and is recovering from his injuries, according to police.
