A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck in a hit-and-run crash on County Road 101 in Medford Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

The man, who police did not identify pending notification of family, was crossing in the northbound lanes near Southaven Avenue about 8:35 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that continued northbound without stopping, police said.

The man was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to police.

Fifth Squad detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to call 631-854-8542 or Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
