Suffolk police are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving two vehicles that each struck the same woman near a Long Island Rail Road crossing in Brentwood before fleeing the scene Sunday morning.

The 37-year-old Brentwood resident was walking south near the train crossing on Brentwood Road at about 3 a.m. when she was struck first by a gray sedan and then a blue sedan, police said in a news release.

The woman, who police said was walking home from work when she was struck, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries, according to police.

Third Squad detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 631-854-8352 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
