One motorist was hospitalized with minor injuries and another motorist fled the scene after their vehicles collided Tuesday night in Farmingville, police said.

A 2003 Ford Escape was southbound on South Bicycle Path near Norwood Avenue at 9:17 p.m. when it was struck from the side by a 2002 Jeep Liberty, Suffolk County police said.

The driver of the Escape was taken to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, police said, and the driver of the Jeep fled the scene on foot before officers arrived, police said.
