A Greenlawn man died from his injuries Thursday after he was hit by a vehicle driven by a teenager who then drove off, Suffolk County police said.
Sair Rodriguez, 32, was walking on the shoulder of southbound Broadway in Huntington at about midnight when he was struck by a southbound vehicle near Legacy Court, police said.
The driver, Veronica Borracci, 17, of Dix Hills, was arrested at about 9 a.m. Thursday, according to the police, and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
She is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, they added.
The Greenlawn Fire Department took Rodriguez to Huntington Hospital with injuries that were life-threatening, police said earlier Thursday.
