A cyclist was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Melville, Suffolk police said.

The victim, a 27-year-old man from Huntington Station, is being treated at a hospital, police said.

The man was riding a bicycle south in the right lane of Route 110, approaching Hazel Court, when a vehicle headed in the same direction struck the back of the bike at around 2:55 a.m., police said.
