A homeless man was arrested and charged Monday in connection with robbing a Sayville bank last month, police said.

William Campanaro, 29, was charged with third-degree robbery after police said he robbed the TD Bank at 188 N. Main St. on Nov. 17.

Campanaro will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Central Islip.

Police said in an earlier release that he entered the bank at about 4:20 p.m. and passed the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and then Campanaro fled on foot, police said.
