In three separate incidents occurring two hours apart early Wednesday, a single male entered or trespassed on homes in Great Neck and Kings Point, Nassau detectives said, adding that in one of the incidents, the intruder put a knife to the throat of a 61-year-old woman who freed herself, grabbed the knife and chased him from the home, police said

It was unclear if the attacks were related to the incident reported Sunday of a man who entered the bedroom of a 15-year-old girl on West Shore Road in Great Neck, and held a wet cloth across her face.

The latest attack occurred at about 4:43 a.m. when an intruder entered a home on Georgian Lane in Great Neck and placed a knife against the throat of the victim, who awoke to find a man in her second-floor bedroom, Sixth Squad detectives said.

He tried to hold her down in bed but she escaped and took the knife.

Earlier the same day, at a home on Lighthouse Road, a 63-year-old woman woke up when she heard banging and glass shattering in her home, police said. She saw a man looking at her through the broken glass of her back door, police said.

In another incident on Lighthouse Road at 2:50 a.m., a man got into a home through a bathroom window and entered a bedroom. Police said the man entered a bedroom where two children, ages 1 and 5, were sleeping. The 5-year-old child was awakened and startled to see a man standing over the bed.

But the children's mother said in an interview that the man never entered the children's bedroom, and that he left the home after their parents were awakened.

Detectives request anyone with information about these burglaries to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
