Huntington man arrested in Suffolk burglaries, police say

A Huntington man has been arrested in the burglaries of more than a half-dozen businesses over a 10-day period this month, Suffolk County police said Thursday.

Police said Anthony Stack, 57, of Tower Street, was captured on surveillance video May 22 after he broke into Si Yuang Kitchen on Wall Street in Huntington.

A Second Squad detective reviewed still photos taken from the video and identified Stack as the suspect, police said. A police spokesman said no information was available on how police knew the suspect was Stack.

A police spokeswoman said money was taken in some of the burglaries and that in others cash registers containing money were stolen. She said nothing was taken in other cases.

Police said Second Squad detectives located Stack on West Hills Road in Huntington on Wednesday and placed him under arrest.

Police said further investigation revealed that Stack was also responsible for burglarizing the following businesses on the following dates:

•Kerber’s Farm, West Pulaski Road, Huntington on May 12;

•Golden Express Chinese Kitchen, Broadhollow Road, Melville on May 14;

•Golden River Chinese Kitchen, East Jericho Turnpike, Huntington on May 15;

•Yhum Yhum Kitchen, East Jericho Turnpike, Dix Hills on May 16;

•Country Hot Bagels, Fort Salonga Road, Northport on May 16;

•The Great Wall Chinese, Larkfield Road, East Northport on May 21.

Police said Stack was charged with grand larceny and burglary. He was awaiting arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
