Police said he claimed to be a “fire suppression inspector” — and used the ruse last month to scam employees at a Huntington Station Dunkin’ Donuts out of $675.26.

Suffolk County police have released surveillance photos of the man and are asking the public’s help in identifying him.

Police said the scam occurred at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Walt Whitman Road on May 17. Police said the suspect has “attempted this scam” at other Dunkin’ Donuts store, too.

On May 17, police said, the suspect entered the store, identified himself as the “fire suppression inspector,” told employees he was performing the inspection for corporate — and then was paid from the register by employees. Police said no inspection was performed and that the entire thing was a ruse.

Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
