Nassau police are investigating a bike robbery that took place in Inwood on Sunday evening.

Fourth Squad detectives are seeking five young men who attacked a 45-year-old man on Bayview Avenue at the intersection with the Nassau Expressway, police said.

After first unsuccessfully demanding the victim’s cellphone and money, the suspects stole his bicycle and then fled down Redfern Avenue toward the Redfern housing development

, police said.

The victim described the suspects as being roughly 15 to 17 years old and wearing dark colored hoodies and clothing. One of the subjects, who struck the victim in the face with a chain, was described as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 19 years old, with a thin build.

The victim sustained facial swelling and bruising, but refused medical attention, police said.
