Nassau County police have identified a man in the robbery of a Merrick 7-Eleven after watching him assault the store’s clerk on video surveillance.

Police on Monday released the video of the Nov. 30 robbery at the 7-Eleven at 203 Sunrise Hwy.; they said it shows Jamie Rivera, 31, pushing the clerk to the ground and darting from the store.

According to a news release, Rivera, whose last known address is Newton Boulevard in Freeport, took magazines and concealed them in his jacket. When the clerk confronted him, Rivera pushed the man to the floor, causing him to sustain a laceration to his nose, police said.

The release said Rivera “then fled in a black BMW” and the clerk was able to get the car’s license plate number.

That information, plus the video surveillance, led to the identification of Rivera, police said.

Anyone with more information can call Seventh Squad detectives at 516-573-6754.
