A 16-year-old teen taking part in a junior program at the East Meadow Fire Department was molested in the home of one of the members in charge of that initiative on the evening of April 18, Nassau police said Wednesday.

Scott Farber, 49, was arrested shortly after dawn Tuesday morning and charged with two counts of a criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child, a police statement said.

Farber was arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Mineola and held on bail of $50,000 cash or $25,000 bond, according to online court records. His next court appearance is set for Friday. He is represented by the Legal Aid Society, which typically makes no comment.

Anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a similar incident should call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS, The Special Victims Squad at 516-573-4022, or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
